Taking advantage of the conflict caused by the Turkish state and allied mercenaries, ISIS attacked the Internal Security Forces in Deir ez-Zor, injuring two.
The General Command of the Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria said in a written statement that ISIS cells carried out an attack in the town of Muhemida, west of Deir ez-Zor on 23 December.
Two members of the Internal Security Forces were wounded in the attack carried out by two ISIS members on motorcycles and taken under treatment.
“The attacks of terrorist cells have visibly increased in recent days due to the security gaps in the east of the Euphrates, and security measures should therefore be increased. In addition to all these, our forces pursue these terrorist groups and continue to work to protect the peace and security environment in the region,” said the statement, vowing that the attackers would be caught.
