Jailed journalist starts hunger strike against isolation

Hunger strike actions against the isolation regime on Abdullah Öcalan are growing.

Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Leyla Güven, jailed in Diyarbakır Prison, is on the 40th day of her hunger strike against the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

While the indefinite and alternate hunger strike of political prisoners continues with the third groups, 30 PKK and PAJK prisoners began an indefinite and non-alternate fast yesterday.

It has been reported that journalist Kibriye Evren, who is jailed in Diyarbakır E Type Closed Prison, has also started an indefinite and non-alternate hunger strike alongside two other female prisoners, Elif Kaya and Hilal Sönmez.
