Kurdish Women's Workshop to be held in Sulaymaniyah

Kurdish Women's Workshop will be held in Sulaymaniyah on the initiative of the KNK Women's Commission and the Kurdistan Women's Union, under the slogan ‘Stop Femicide’.

The KNK (Kurdistan National Congress) Women's Commission and the Kurdistan Women's Union are planning a Kurdish Women's Workshop in Sulaymaniyah tomorrow, with women from four different sections of Kurdistan taking part under the slogan 'Stop Femicide'.

Tomorrow, between 10:00 am and 15:00, the Kurdish Women's Workshop will gather at Tewar Hall in Sulaymaniyah. The workshop will be divided into two panels of five topics in total. The outcomes of the workshop will be announced later.

Kurdistan Women's Union Secretary Kafiye Süleyman and KNK Co-Chair Zeynep Murad will deliver the opening statements at the workshop.

Following the speeches, 'Violence against women and arrests as a result of political power,' 'The role of law and culture in women's identity,' and 'The situation of women under political pressure” will be discussed in the first panel, while the second panel will be focusing on "The current situation of women in the occupying government" and "The situation of Yazidi women in current reality."

Activists and female parliamentarians from all regions of Kurdistan will attend the panel and present their concerns.
