Kurds in Marseille demand justice for victims of Paris massacres

Kurdish women living in Marseille sent a letter to the French Ministry of Justice demanding the exposure and prosecution of the perpetrators of the Paris massacres.

Hundreds of signed letters were sent from Marseille to the French Ministry of Justice demanding the exposure and prosecution of the perpetrators of the killings of Evîn Goyî, Mîr Perwer, Abdurrahman Kızıl, Sakine Cansız (Sara), Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn), and Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî). They were the victims of the two massacres carried out in Paris on 23 December 2022 and 9 January 2013.

The letter campaign was promoted by the Arin Mirkan Women's Council affiliated with the French Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-F), and will continue until 11 January, when a central march will be held in Paris on the occasion of the anniversaries of the two massacres.

Gathering in front of the post office, women chanted the slogan "Jin Jiyan Azadî" and sent the letters.

The text of the letter sent to the French Ministry of Justice, reminded him that the leaders of the Kurdish women's movement were systematically targeted by the Turkish state, and added that France had not fulfilled its duty of justice for 12 years in the face of the murders of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez, killed by MIT in Paris. The letter said: "As Kurdish women, we renew our demand for justice. We have lost four friends in your country. As long as these massacres are not resolved, no Kurdish woman will be safe in your country. We will raise our voices on the occasion of the great march for truth and justice to be held in Paris on 11 January 2025. We do this every year. And we will continue the struggle until justice is served."
