Women living in Şehîd Rûstem Cûdî Refugee Camp in Maxmur underlined that, "No one can darken the sun of women" in a mass march on the occasion of March 8.
In Martyr Rûstem Cûdî Cudi Refugee Camp, the events organized by the Ishtar Assembly on the occasion of March 8, International Working Women's Day continue. Today, a march was organized from the Institution of Martyrs' Families to the Martyr Aryen Judi Park.
The women wore local clothes and carried photographs of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and fallen pioneer women.
After a minute of silence in memory of the Kurdistan Freedom Martyrs, Qîmet Şirnexî made a speech.
Celebrating March 8 for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the women who sacrificed their lives in the ranks of the struggle, Şirnexî stated that March 8 is not limited to one day and continued: "March 8 is a day of rebellion against the slavery imposed on women and the deprivation of their right to life. Not only Kurdish women, but all women living in the world are subjected to the same injustices. Although it is said that we are in a new century, we are faced with femicides every day. Woman is the creator of life. However, the male-dominated power has taken this right away from women and pushed them into a subordinate position. We once again celebrate March 8, the day of the laborers, especially the women who have gifted us this day with their struggle and resistance, and especially the women who struggle in the dungeons for the physical freedom of Leader Öcalan. We reiterate once again that no one can darken the sun of women."
