Peace Mother Simanperi Akyıldız passed away

Peace Mother Simanperi Akyıldız and Fatma Ayşe Arslan, mother of former DBP co-chair Mehmet Arslan, have passed away.

Peace Mother Simanperi Akyıldız lost her life in the hospital where she was treated in Istanbul. Simanperi, who is from Bitlis Tatvan, suffered from heart and asthma diseases. Simanperi, who has been treated for 15 days after tested positive for coronavirus, was at the forefront of many actions in the struggle for peace, equality and freedom. Simanperi, one of the White Headscarf Mothers, was often subjected to police violence during her struggle. Simanperi, who was dragged on the ground during the hunger strike in 2020, was also the mother of a prisoner.

Fatma Ayşe Arslan, mother of former co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Mehmet Arslan, died. Anne Arslan, who had been treated for a long time in a private hospital in Adana, got worse on Sunday and passed away.

Fatma Ayşe Arslan will be buried today in the Nizip district of Antep.
