Protest with white head scarves in London

Women promoted a demonstration with white head scarves in London, protesting the isolation of Öcalan and the Turkish police attack against mothers.

Roj Women’s Assembly organised a demonstration in London to call attention to the hunger strike and death fast protests demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Gathering in front of the Assembly building, women with white head scarves protested the Turkish police violence against mothers of prisoners who have been taking to the streets in Turkey and North Kurdistan in solidarity with their children on hunger strike.

Demonstrators urged Therasa May to stop British support for the Turkish state.

Speakers stressed that the Turkish government does not even tolerate mothers and saluted all the hunger strike activists.

“Yesterday Hitler, today Erdoğan” chanted the demonstrators who demanded that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and political prisoners be released immediately.

Protesters also called on everyone to unite against dictatorship and fascism.
