The Democratic Union Party (PYD) Young Women's Assembly organized a panel titled "We will end violence against women, cultural and political genocide through organization." Many women from civil society organizations and political parties attended the panel.
The panel held in the PYD hall in Qamishlo discussed two topics, 'violence against women' and 'cultural and political genocide.'
Talking about violence against women, PYD Cizîrê Canton Young Women's Assembly executive, Sara Hesen, said that there are many types of violence against women, including physical, psychological, economic, intellectual and social violence, and stated that violence is not only directed at women, but also at the entire society.
Drawing attention to the fact that the enemy uses these methods to weaken and control the people, Sara Hesen said that the most appropriate methods to end violence are organization and education.
Talking about cultural and political genocide, Berîtan Roş, spokesperson for the Northern and Eastern Syrian Young Women’s Union, said: "The enemy is working 24 hours a day to destroy the language, existence and culture of the people in the region on the basis of political genocide."
Drawing attention to the special attacks and war carried out and carried out by the occupying Turkish state against Northern and Eastern Syria, Berîtan Roş underlined the importance of awareness and solidarity.
