TJA mobilizes for Öcalan’s call

TJA announced full mobilization of all women to implement Abdullah Öcalan’s call.

In a written statement, the Free Women’s Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad, TJA) emphasized that Öcalan’s call for 'Peace and a Democratic Society' represents an era of enlightenment for all peoples.

TJA said: "We are entering a new phase where the struggle for women's freedom and a democratic society will be more active, and the time to shape the discourse belongs to women. Women who have been left unorganized and continuously marginalized by sexism, religious fundamentalism, nationalism, and scientism will now organize more strongly, fight more fiercely for peace and democracy, and achieve greater victories. To interpret this call properly, we must take responsibility and embrace the process. The peace and democratic society call made by the Leader of the Peoples, Abdullah Öcalan, is a call for an era of enlightenment, particularly for women and children, and for all peoples."

We will struggle in full mobilization

TJA emphasized the profound impact of Öcalan’s call, stating that its global resonance is directly linked to this reality and adding that "women will be the strongest force in supporting and advancing this process. A democratic society can only be built through the achievements and struggles of women. As the Free Women’s Movement, we fully embrace the ‘Peace and Democratic Society’ call made by the Leader of the Peoples, Abdullah Öcalan. We declare to the public and our people that we will fight in full mobilization alongside all women to bring this call to life. We must remember that the struggle for women's freedom is both the driving force and the guarantee of peace and democracy. This historic call made by Mr. Öcalan, the architect of the philosophy ‘Jin, jiyan, azadî’ (Woman, life, freedom), places a vital responsibility on all women."

Women will wtruggle for peace against war and patriarchy

TJA emphasized that a democratic, ecological, and women’s liberation-centered paradigm can only be realized and universalized within democratic societies that have achieved an honorable peace. They stated that "this is both the historical responsibility and the ultimate goal of Kurdish women leading the struggle for freedom. The Kurdish women's freedom movement, through its long and determined struggle, has gained immense experience and possesses both the theoretical and practical capacity to organize a democratic society based on the call of the Leader of the Peoples, Mr. Öcalan. Every struggle we wage for an honorable peace is also a struggle against the male-dominated mindset. Therefore, in this new era, women will organize the struggle for peace against both war and patriarchy."

Free and effective conditions must be established

TJA emphasized that Öcalan’s "Peace and Democratic Society" call has created a historic opportunity for all peoples in Turkey, placing serious responsibilities on the current government and state authorities. They stated that, above all, the necessary conditions must be established for Mr. Öcalan to work freely. Ending war and conflict, and ensuring a healthy progression of the process, requires urgent political and legal steps, as well as the swift implementation of necessary legislative arrangements.  According to TJA, programs, projects, and planning essential for this process must be put into action without delay.

We will be in the streets on 8 March and Newroz

TJA stated: "As the path to building ‘Peace and a Democratic Society’ is opened, peoples can once again reclaim the opportunity to live together with their unique identities and differences, something they have long yearned for. We call on all women who believe in the possibility of living together equally and freely to unite around this call, embrace peace with even greater strength, and actively struggle for it. Kurdish women, together with women from the Middle East and around the world, will not only claim this historic call for ‘Peace and a Democratic Society’ but will also be its pioneers and architects. With the spirit of March 8 and Newroz on 21 March, which have become symbols of resistance, we will take to the streets, squares, cities, and villages everywhere women are present. We call on all women to embrace this call and to raise the struggle with the conviction that ‘Honorable peace and a democratic society will undoubtedly be achieved by organized, resisting, and struggling women who have paid the price on this path."
