Kurdish women's organizations will gather at the Zilan Women's Festival in Germany on June 17, the Rojbin Women's Festival in France on June 18, and the Sakine Cansız Women's Festival in Switzerland on June 25. This year’s festivals are all dedicated to KCK Executive Council member Evîn Goyî.
In a written statement on Friday, the Kurdish Women's Movement in France (TJK-F) invited all women to participate in the 6th Kurdish Women's Festival on June 18 in the strongest way possible.
TJK-F paid tribute to Kurdish female revolutionaries Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez who were murdered in the heart of Paris on January 9, 2013; to Mir Perwer, Abdurrahman Kızıl, and Evin Goyi (Emine Kara) who were murdered in the French capital on December 23, 2022.

“Kurdish women today are the central pillar of the liberation struggle of the Kurdish people, and they are targeted by the enemy while defending the libertarian values of the women's struggle all over the world. Inspired by a long tradition of resistance in spite of massacres, oppression and war, we will continue to be a part and pioneer of the democratic, feminist and ecological project. It is for this reason that our festival is named after Rojbin, who led the struggle of women at the international level, in France, and played a role as a Kurdish woman diplomat. Rojbin was a follower of the Kurdish women's revolutionary line, following in the footsteps of Sakine Cansız, the symbol of resistance. Rojbin attended and initiated many activities against all forms of the patriarchal system. Concretising her approach to femicides, she followed the path of women's liberation, in the footsteps of Olympes de Gouges, Emma Goldman, Clara Zetkin, Dulcie July, Sakine Cansız and many others.
This festival is also a response to political femicides, from Paris, where women have been killed. It is a call for 'justice' for Sara, Rojbin, Evin, Nagehan, Jina Amini, Berta Caceres from Honduras and Marielle Franco, a World March of Women activist from Brazil and all murdered women. We invite all women to broadly participate in the 6th Fidan Doğan-Rojbin Women's Festival, which is a symbol of commitment and struggle in memory of all women who resisted oppression, discrimination, sexism, racism, colonialism, imperialism and patriarchy at the cost of their lives.
We urge all women to take action to strengthen international solidarity among all women on the planet.”
