The fourth hearing of the case filed on the charge of "human trafficking" against ISIS members who kidnapped a Yazidi girl to Turkey in 2017 and tried to sell her on the dark web was held on Thursday in Ankara.

Co-Spokespersons of the Children's Commission of the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), DEM Party MP Ceylan Akça, Lawyers for Freedom Association (ÖHD) Ankara Branch, Human Rights Association (IHD) Ankara Branch, attended the hearing.

The defendant, Sabah A.H.O, attended the hearing.

After the defense of the lawyers and the defendants, the court postponed the hearing to September 10.

What happened?

Legal organizations in Ankara filed a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in December 2021, demanding an investigation into "crimes against humanity" and "human trafficking" against ISIS members who kidnapped a 7-year-old girl and sold her via the internet.

Upon the application of legal organizations, a lawsuit was filed against the ISIS members for the crime of "human trafficking", while a decision of non-prosecution was given for "crime against humanity".

The court decided that the hearings regarding the case in question would be held in camera.
