YJA Star (Free Women's Troops) Central Headquarters Command announced that YJA-STAR Military Council members Nalin Muş and Helin Dersim fell as martyrs as result of heavy bombardment conducted by Turkish jets on Medya Defense Zones on 26-27-28 April.

Nalin Muş joined the ranks of PKK in 90's and partook in one of the first troops of women's army in the Erzurum territory. She was a leading commander and always undertook a leading and active role on the frontline of resistance during 25 years of struggle. She engaged in works on command level in Dersim and Medya Defense Zones. Most recently, she continued her works at the YJA-STAR Military Council.

 

Helin Dersim joined the ranks of the freedom struggle in 1997, since when she created herself with her labor and had a leading role in all the areas she has been active up to date. Dersim also served at the Leadership Zone, after which she shared all she had learned from the Leader (Abdullah Öcalan) with her comrades in every moment of her life.

Helin Dersim was also in the executive council of PAJK (Kurdistan Women's Liberation Party) and had an active and leading role in the works for women's freedom. She was also interested and very good at literature, and always enjoyed making the nature and people go down in history by telling about them in detail in her writings.

 

YJA Star Command offered condolences to the families of the two martyrs and promised “vengeance” to all the martyrs of revolution in the person of Nalin and Helin, adding; “Our struggle will continue relentlessly until we carry our freedom struggle, which came to these days owing to their labor, to victory. The resistance and struggle mounted during their lifetime will be a light to our struggle.”
