As part of the action days “Dialogues with Öcalan – you can’t imprison ideas”, Kevana Zêrîn, the Widerklang choir and the women’s movement YJK-E organized a performance in Berlin.

"PKK Navê wê can dide bindestan" (PKK is its name, it gives life to the oppressed) echoed across Mariannenplatz in Berlin during a performance as part of the action days "Dialogues with Öcalan – you can’t imprison ideas".

Members of Kevana Zêrîn, the Widerklang choir and the YJK-E sung songs by the guerrilla group Awazên Cîya as part of a theater performance. The performance began with three women activists singing the song Amara. Amara is the birthplace of Öcalan. It symbolizes the rebirth of the Kurdish freedom movement on the basis of a radically democratic, ecological and women’s liberation paradigm. The women begin to sing, but the men cover their mouths. Together they manage to free themselves and join the fighters in the symbolic prison, breaking through the walls symbolized by bars.

Following the theater performance, strings with Öcalan quotes were hung up. With this performance, the activists summarize in a few minutes the struggle that has culminated in the campaign "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan and a political solution to the Kurdish question". The campaign has been going on since 10 October 2023. In this context, the action days "Dialogues with Öcalan – you can’t imprison ideas" are taking place between 15 and 22 June.

The aim of these days is to convey the importance of Öcalan's ideology as a liberation project for humanity and thus also to advance the fight for the freedom of Öcalan, from whom there has been no sign of life for over three years.
