The TAJE is visiting mass graves in the Herdan village in Shengal as part of the March 8 activities.

Yazidi Women’s Freedom Movement (TAJE) is visiting mass graves in the Herdan village in Shengal as part of the March 8 World Women’s Day activities.

Women visited the graves of Yazidis killed in the Shengal Massacre and left roses at the mass grave.

TAJE issued a statement and, calling on women’s organizations, said: “Women have been subjected to violence and attacks throughout history. Hundreds of women were killed in Shengal in front of the whole world to see, and many were abducted. As TAJE, we believe that women’s struggle against violence throughout history will prevail. Women must organize in the economic, political and cultural spheres. We are calling on Yazidi women to organize against violence. The struggle against violence will remove power structures.”
