Women in Van prepare for International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

Women in Van are preparing for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November.

TJA Activist Yıldız Çetin said that women will raise their voices against violence in many cities on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Erdîş Municipality co-mayor and TJA activist Yıldız Çetin, who was replaced by a trustee, stated that they have entered the campaign process and added: "25 November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This year, as every year, women will continue their fight against violence in many neighbourhoods, villages and districts and raise their voices. Every day in Turkey, thousands of women are subjected to violence. They are subjected to violence in prison, they are subjected to violence at home. Many women are also murdered. Women will continue our struggle in every field to end femicide."

TJA women organized a workshop on gender awareness, Çetin said, adding: "Many women participated in this workshop with which we are initiating efforts to spread breed awareness throughout society. We are launching campaigns to raise gender awareness and the fight against violence in every neighbourhood, every village, every street, every district."
