A massive march was staged in Raqqa in celebration of International Women’s Day.
As part of the activities and events commemorating International Women’s Day in the North-East Syria Region, women in Raqqa city organized a massive march raising images of martyrs and banners expressing celebration of this day.
The march was attended by members of civil and military institutions as well as a large number of residents. It started from the “Children’s Hospital” in the city and proceeded through its neighborhoods until it reached the “Free Woman Statue” square.
The march began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs’ souls, followed by a speech on behalf of the women of Raqqa, delivered by activist Ghalya Al-Kachwan. She congratulated all women in the North-East Syria Region on the occasion of International Women’s Day, emphasizing that what women have embodied in NE Syria Region, whether in their institutions or among the ranks of the military forces and women’s organizations, constitutes an achievement for women worldwide, making them pioneers in the feminist struggle.
At the end of her speech, she urged everyone to continue the struggle for achieving social justice and equality in all its forms. The event concluded with artistic and folkloric performances presented by the Golden Troupe in Raqqa city.
