Yet another torture incident came out from Tarsus T Type Women’s Closed Prison that stays on the agenda with rampant cases of ill-treatment and violence.

On August 24, 6 detainees were reportedly beaten by the guards and dragged on the ground to cells. The female prisoners told their families about the violence they were subject to, saying the following:

"The guardians with the names Aslı, Ayşe and Demet stormed the C8 ward vandalizing. In that ward there were the inmates Fatma Gökhan, Güler Aruk, Nevroz, Nüçel, Berivan Reşit, Selvi Yılan and Kaniye Ağrıman. They attacked and battered us. They dragged us on the ground and threw us into solitary confinement cells. After three hours they brought us back to the ward. In the evening they took us then to the infirmary and even though they wrote a battery report, we were not given those reports. The guardians Aslı, Demet and Ayşe are raiding the wards and are trying to provoke us."

The families demanded an end to the pressure and torture against the prisoners.
