The Women’s Council of Martyrs’ Families is holding its second conference in the Rimelan district of Qamishlo Canton under the motto "With the spirit of August 15 resistance, we will enhance the women's struggle to ensure the freedom of Leader Öcalan".
500 delegates from North-East Syria are attending the conference which kicked off at Aram Tigran Culture and Art Center this morning.
Members of women’s organizations and institutions in the region are participating in the conference in clothes representing their faiths and national cultures.
The conference, which started with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs, will last two days, during which two-year activities of the Council will be read out, the regulation will be reviewed and re-approved, and members of the council will be elected.
