Women's Offices in Northern and Eastern Syria hold interim meeting

The Women's Offices of the Democratic Autonomous Administration Social Affairs Council held their 6-month meeting.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration Social Affairs Council of Northern and Easterb Syria held the 6-month meeting of the women's offices affiliated to the council. The meeting was held in the council's building in Raqqa with the participation of representatives of the women's offices of the cantons in the region.

Co-chair of the Northern and Eastern Syria Social Affairs Council Meryem Ibrahim made an assessment of the political situation. Drawing attention to the war and crises in the Middle East, Inrahim called for unity among women.

In their discussions on the organizational situation, the participants discussed the monitoring of the situations of families returning from the camps, ensuring the economic and social development of women through the opening of education cycles, preparing small projects for women and creating job opportunities.

The meeting then continued behind closed doors with the reading and discussion of the council's statute.

At the end of the meeting, a final declaration consisting of many decisions was announced. Reading the final declaration, Social Affairs Council co-chair Meryem Ibrahim drew attention to the following points:

"- Ensuring coordination between the Social Affairs Council women's offices, women's organizations in the cantons, Kongra Star, Zenûbiya Women's Community, Syriac Women's Union and Syrian Women's Assembly.

- Supporting social care centers in the cantons to help women leaving the Hol Camp.

- Implementing the Social Contract between social affairs boards and employees.

- Collaborating with the Education Council to include children in education.

- Establishing communication between the Social Affairs Council and the executive assemblies in the cantons to resolve unresolved issues.

- Opening weekly training sessions for all women working on social affairs boards."
