YPJ fighters: We are in Raqqa to avenge all women

YPJ fighters partaking in the operation to liberate Raqqa state that they are fighting for all the women, particularly for thousands of Êzidî women abducted from Shengal.

In footage released by YPJ (Women's Defense Units) Press Office female combatants are expressing their feelings and views about the operation to liberate Raqqa, de-facto capital of ISIS.

 

YPJ combatant Zagros Qamishlo states the following:

“We are in Raqqa as Women's Defense Units-YPJ. Our main goal is to free the women living under ISIS atrocity in Raqqa. We particularly want to free the Êzidî women that were abducted from Shengal and are held captive here by ISIS. All the world's eyes are on this campaign and we are fighting here for women and humanity. We will get women's revenge from ISIS.”

Another YPJ fighter Berxwedan Koçer tells: “For YPJ combatants it is a great morale to be in Raqqa and wage a struggle for the freedom of the people here who have been living under ISIS atrocity for a very long while. We want to free the people from these gangs. We are also here to free the Êzidî women abducted from Shengal and to avenge them.”

Another YPJ fighter, Jinda Ereb from Shaddadi, tells that they are moving on to Raqqa to strike at the heart of ISIS
