At least 17 Kurdish concerts banned in the last 5 years
Today is Music Freedom Day. In Turkey, in the past 5 years, at least 17 Kurdish concerts have been banned.
Music Freedom Day is an annual global marking and celebration of artistic freedom for musical artists every 3rd March.
Initiated by Freemuse in 2007, Music Freedom Day is now a well-established celebration of artistic freedom world-wide.
In Turkey, in the past 5 years, at least 17 Kurdish concerts have been banned. Among the artists banned were those from the MKM (Mesopotamia Cultural Centre), Mem Ararat, Mikail Aslan, Aynur Dogan, Zinar Sozdar, Roj Band, Azad Bedran.
