In a written statement, the Confederation of Kurdish Communities in Germany said: “The First Yazidi Culture Festival will be held in the city of Bielefeld in Germany. We want to call on all people to join this festival of people which is one of the most ancient societies of the Middle East. .”

The statement reminded that “in the geography of Mesopotamia, have always lived different peoples and beliefs throughout the history. One of them is the Yazidi Kurdish society which is thousands of years old.”

The statement recalled how this “community has gone through tough and painful days. We wish that this festival could celebrate the thousands who were forced to migrate from Shengal and those who resisted to rebuild a free and autonomous society.”
