The annual Kurdish festival in Toronto, Canada was held on Sunday this year. Former HDP MP Ahmet Yildirim and ournalist Mutlu Civiroglu were at the 17th Kurdish Culture and Peace Festival where Kurdish musicians Mikail Aslan. Seyda Perincek and Ali Zendi gave concerts.
The children’s choir and folkloric dance groups garnered great interest.
The open air festival hosted MP Michael Levitt from Canada’s governing Liberal Party and MP Peter Kent from the opposition Conservatives as speakers.
NGO representatives also gave speeches after Canadian MPs. Kurdish food was served at the festival and traditional Kurdish culture was celebrated.
