Kurdish Film Days Cologne to kick off next week

From April 22 to 24, Filmhaus Kino will once again bring some festival atmosphere to Cologne with the Kurdish Film Days.

The Kurdish Film Days Cologne will kick off next week. From April 22 to 24, the Filmhaus Kino creates a platform for current insights into the complexity of Kurdish life and cinematic creativity - from the region itself and from the diaspora. The varied three-day program includes documentary and scenic works and also offers the opportunity to enter into exchange with Kurdish filmmakers. For example, German-Kurdish director Yüksel Yavuz will share his many years of professional experience with the audience in the master class "Filmmaking in the Diaspora."

Other guests include Serpil Turhan, director of the film "Köy" and Kojin, protagonist of the film "The many lives of Kojin." In terms of content, the Film Days focus on the negotiation of gender, sexual and ethnic identities in different socio-political contexts, including Germany.
