The Young Women’s Union opened a library in Raqqa’s Martyr Hevrîn Xelef Park, dedicated to Martyr Ronahî Yekta.

The Young Women’s Union has inaugurated a library in Martyr Hevrîn Xelef Park in the city of Raqqa, naming it after Martyr Ronahî Yekta. The opening ceremony was attended by young women and members of women’s organizations.

During the event, a representative from the Women’s Office of the Youth and Sports Committee of Northern and Eastern Syria welcomed the participants and stated that the library had been established in memory of Martyr Ronahî Yekta.

The library houses approximately 300 books, most of which are works by leader Abdullah Öcalan and writings about fallen freedom fighters.

The ceremony concluded with a performance by an ensemble affiliated with the Hîlala Zêrîn Women’s Culture and Arts Movement.

Martyr Ronahî Yekta (Arşin Hisên), a commander of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), fell in battle on December 25, 2024, while resisting the attacks of the Turkish occupying forces and their allied mercenaries.
