After the call to protest the Turkish state's attack on Sulaymaniyah International Airport, people gathered in the city on Sunday evening and organized a demonstration.
Hundreds of people, including politicians, intellectuals and artists, marched to Baxê Giştî on the Salim road, chanting slogans against occupation and betrayal.
Cotyar Reşid made a speech on behalf of the protesters and said: “The people of Sulaymaniyah are asking; Why is this attack carried out in Ramadan, when bloodshed and enmity are considered haram? Why does the Turkish state constantly attack Rojava and South Kurdistan? The latest attack is a declaration of war against the entire people of Kurdistan. According to the United Nations Convention, attacking civilian areas is a crime. However, the Turkish state is constantly committing crimes against the Kurdish people.”
Cotyar Reşid said: “Trade relations with Turkey should be stopped. People should boycott Turkish goods. The governments of Kurdistan Region and Iraq should summon and warn the ambassador of the Turkish state. The United Nations and the friends of the Kurdish people should clearly oppose these attacks."
