HPG: Devastation of nature in Kurdistan will not be left unpunished

The HPG stated that the occupant Turkish state devastates the nature in Kurdistan and said, “This crime will never be left unpunished. Nobody must become accomplice to the Turkish state’s crime of devastating the nature in Kurdistan.”

The Press Office of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement warning against the destruction of nature in the hands of the occupant Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

The statement published on Friday reads:

“While the colonialist Turkish state is bombarding Kurdistan territories in addition to invasion operations, on the other hand it sets fires to forests and cuts down trees. Especially in the recent period, the occupant Turkish army in cooperation with mercenary gangs and counter-guerrillas has been cutting down trees in Avashin, Zap and Metina regions in South Kurdistan as well as in the Geliye Sheik Cuma and Martyr Mizgin areas in Garzan region of Bitlis. The colonialist Turkish state, in addition to genocide attempts against the Kurdish people, also commits serious crimes through devastating the nature of Kurdistan. This crime will never be left unpunished. Nobody must become accomplice to the Turkish state’s crime of devastating the nature in Kurdistan.”
