Despite all the attacks by fascism, the Green Left Party succeeded in becoming the third largest party in the parliament of Turkey following the 14 May elections. The European Election Coordination of the Green Left Party said that the targeted outcome was, however, not achieved. The European Election Coordination vowed to make fascism and Erdogan lose in the second round of the presidential election.

The Coordination issued the following message:

“For us, the most important aspect of this election was that it offered us an opportunity to save the peoples of Turkey from the one-man regime, the rogue system and fascism. We conducted an election campaign under the motto “One vote overthrows the dictator” in the first round of the elections. We prevented Erdogan and fascism from winning in the first round of the presidential election on May 14. Now it's time to make Erdogan and fascism lose forever in the Overseas Elections to be held on May 20-24.

For this reason, we will work harder to pave the way for a free and democratic future, and we will make the misogynist, anti-labour, anti-Kurdish, anti-Alevi Erdogan and fascism lose in the second round. Because oppressors, fascists, racists, colonizers are doomed to lose sooner or later.

We call on voters who are in favour of democracy, law, justice, women's freedom, freedom of faith, equality and freedom of our peoples to go to the polls between May 20-24 in this historic election which will shape the future of our peoples.”
