KCK’s Sozdar Avesta: PKK is stronger than ever

KCK Co-Presidency Council Member Sozdar Avesta said, “If Leader Apo was allowed to work freely, the Middle East wouldn’t be in the situation it is in today,” stating that despite that, Öcalan’s philosophy has prevailed and the PKK is stronger than ever.

In an interview to ÇIRA TV, Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Co-Presidency Council Member Sozdar Avesta spoke about the situation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, attacks on the Kurdish people, developments in the Middle East and the annual meeting of the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) Central Committee.

“LEADER APO IS THE GUARANTEE FOR A COMMON, FREE AND EQUAL LIFE”

Avesta condemned the isolation imposed upon the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and saluted the people of Kurdistan and their allies who demand Öcalan’s freedom and raise the struggle against the isolation. Avesta said: “Leader Apo is the guarantee for all peoples to live together in a free and equal life. The latest news about our Leader are deliberate. They are trying to test the will and the stance of the Kurdish people and the communities in the Middle East who see Leader Apo as the vital hope for their own freedom because they know how loyal, serious and conscious they are by aggravating the isolation further every day. The people of Kurdistan is a people who defend their honor and their Leader in this matter. As the PKK movement, we are monitoring closely all news that come out about our Leader and we assess them.”

Avesta continued: “The goal in targeting Leader Apo is to create a Kurdish people with no purpose, faith, philosophy or will. The international conspiracy against Leader Apo and the severe isolation conditions now are because of this. Since the concerning news about our Leader came out, the Kurdish people and their allies have been in the streets in Kurdistan, Europe and throughout the world. The Kurdistan freedom guerilla also deliver great blows to the enemy and defend Leader Apo.”

“THEY ARE TESTING THE PEOPLE’S PATIENCE”

Avesta poined out that the news about Öcalan’s life being in danger are also related to the current process and said:

“The approach towards Leader Apo reflects the approach towards the Freedom Movement. And the Kurdish people, and Kurdistan’s status. This is playing with fire. It now needs to be said that the AKP-MHP fascism is playing with fire. They are testing the limits of the people’s patience. Our people must see the purpose behind these hellbent fascists. Because no one can tell what this fascist clique will do to hold on to their power and control. Because of that, more than ever before, the resistance and struggle around the Leader must be developed in all areas of life and the march to victory must continue until the Leader’s freedom is achieved. We must know this: Defending Leader Apo is defending the future. Defending Leader Apo is defending the solution for the peoples to live together freely.”

“AS LEADER APO’S PHILOSOPHY PREVAILED...”

“It has very clearly emerged in the region that the Freedom Movement continuing the struggle under Leader Apo’s ideology and philosophy is growing the unity of the people’s, and has created this,” said Avesta and stressed that inflated structures focused on nationalism, sectarianism and the nation state have lost, and Öcalan’s free life philosophy has prevailed. Avesta said this lies at the root of the isolation imposed upon Öcalan and added:

“Because Leader Apo is the leader for all the oppressed and exploited peoples. Leader Apo has become a hope for democracy, equality, justice, free life and the unity of peoples. Protecting Leader Apo is protecting the values of humanity. Democracy, equality, justice, a free life are the values of a moral and political community and peoples. Currently there are severe conflicts among communities that lived together with these values for years. Leader Apo’s ideology and philosophy is based on communities living on their own roots and values again. That is why the hegemonic powers impose an isolation on Leader Apo. If Leader Apo was able to work freely, today the Middle East wouldn’t be how it is. The hegemonic powers are imposing such a severe isolation on Leader Apo because they want to redesign the Middle East and Kurdistan according to their own interests. The people of Kurdistan know this, and they have come together around Leader Apo.”

Avesta pointed out that the World War III is in progress now in the Middle East and the scenario for this was prepared years ago. Avesta said the hegemonic fascist powers have rushed to the region to claim their share after ISIS’ forces were broken, and that the AKP-MHP fascism has organized the most against Kurdish gains.

Avesta added:

“Recently it has been the AKP-MHP fascism that has shown the greatest animosity against the Kurdish people’s gains. Like they entered Al Bab and Jarablus after Manbij was liberated, now the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship can’t stomach the victory in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor and are attacking Efrîn. How successful they will be of course is up for debate. Because everybody knows how Turkey’s colonialism supports ISIS, Al-Nusra and other gangs to stop the Northern Syrian Federation. Despite that, the Democratic Syrian Federation has already become a model for coexistence for the peoples of the Middle East based on a project of all peoples, communities and faiths living together. Tyrants have never prevailed in the face of the will of peoples in history. Like peoples came together and sacrificed everything they had to defend these values created together when Kobanê was attacked, they will stand against all attacks the same way.”

Today, in the light of 40 years of struggle, with great patience, labor and efforts, a people on its death bed has come back to life. Today, in our region the Middle East and the world, this struggle continues to be a hope against all regressive ideologies and the nation state mindset that has become long redundant and plagued peoples, with the alternative democratic confederalism paradigm for the coexistence of peoples in the 21st century. The people of Kurdistan are the only guarantee for the women’s and cultural revolution in the 21st century.

Under the lead of Leader Apo and the PKK, the people of Kurdistan have set out on a great march for freedom. This march for freedom will, on the 40th year of the PKK, be crowned with the freedom of Leader Apo, and Kurdistan achieving its status. With the resistance spirit of the PKK, I am calling on all the people of Kurdistan, women, youth, allies and forces of democracy to participate stronger in the great march for freedom and to achieve victory!”
