Vice News reporter Jake Hanrahan, cameraman Philip Pendlebury, and their translator Muhammed İsmail Resul who were remanded in custody and jailed in Amed, have been sent a prison in the southern province of Adana.

The three working for VICE News had been detained while covering incidents in Sur district of Amed on August 27, and were formally arrested two days ago on alleged charges of “committing crime on behalf of an illegal organization despite not being its members”.

It is reported that the British journalists and their translator were transferred from Diyarbakır D Type Closed Prison to Kürkçüler Prison in Adana yesterday evening.

Speaking on the subject, lawyer Erhan Ürküt reacted to the transfer which -he underlined- would obstruct the journalists from receiving legal support and aimed to deny them access to justice.
