Constitutional Court decision awaited in trial of Kurdish journalists

Istanbul 3rd High Criminal Court has decided to await the ruling of the Constitutional Court on the trial of 46 Kurdish journalists.

Istanbul 3rd High Criminal Court has decided to await the ruling of the Constitutional Court in the trial of Kurdish journalists.

Journalists and their lawyers attended the third hearing of the so-called “KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Press Committee case” which has resumed at Istanbul 3rd High Criminal Court on Friday. 46 Kurdish press workers are standing trial on charges of alleged illegal journaliststic works.

The court board stated that the review of the case file, which was sent to the Constitutional Court in order for the examining of constitutional objections after the hearing on 6 November 2014, continued. The court decided to await the Constitutional Court decision and postponed the hearing to 11 September 2015.
