More than 40 thousand people in Ain Issa have been deprived of drinking water due to the attacks by the occupying Turkish army.
More than 40,000 people have lost access to drinking water due to the Turkish occupying army's attacks on Ain Issa. As the attacks continue, technical teams can no longer reach the facilities to repair the water facilities out of service.
The occupying Turkish army and allied mercenaries continue their bombardments and artillery attacks on the district of Ain Issa and its countryside with all kinds of heavy weapons and UCAVs. As a result of the attacks, the main drinking water stations and the electricity network were bombed and rendered out of service.
Recently, the water collection tank in the district and the water stations in al-Hisha and al-Fatsa have also been targeted by attacks and left out of service.
Speaking to ANHA, Senaa El Elî, Co-Chair of the Ain Issa Water Authority, said: “The Turkish occupation has intensified its attacks on service facilities in order to strain the lives of citizens in the region. In this context, the Turkish occupation directly targeted the water tanks and electricity grids in the al-Hisha al-Khamiya stations. On the other hand, Al-Fatsa station was completely destroyed. Due to these attacks, drinking water was completely cut off in 45 villages of al-Hisha and 20 villages of Ain Issa. More than 41 thousand people live in these villages. Continued water cut will force the people of the region to use water that is not fit for drinking and may cause diseases.”
Talking about their efforts to meet the needs of the citizens, Senaa El Elî said, “There is only one water tank and although it works 24 hours a day, it is not enough to meet the needs of the citizens.”
Senaa El Elî noted that the technical teams could not go to the facilities for repairs due to the ongoing attacks by the occupying Turkish army.
According to the Euphrates Canton administrators, the material damage caused by the attacks by the occupying Turkish army and allied mercenaries against the water facilities reached 1 million dollars, and thousands of families were victimized due to the water cut.
