Turkish warplanes bomb Autonomous Administration building in Manbij city centre

The northern Syrian canton of Manbij is the target of increasing attacks by the Turkish state and allied jihadist proxies.

After the fighters of the Manbij Military Council inflicted heavy blows on the cells of the occupying Turkish state and its gangs in the city, the occupying Turkish state deployed warplanes to support the gangs.

Turkish warplanes bombed the Autonomous Administration building in the city centre of Manbij on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports from the ground, fierce clashes between the occupiers and the fighters of the Manbij Military Council continue.

Earlier today, Manbij Military Council reported that fierce clashes were taking place on 3 fronts and at the entrance of the city as occupation forces had increased the intensity of their attacks on all fronts of Manbij in the last two days. The Council said that gang groups advanced towards the southern entrance of the city, accompanied by air support and armoured vehicles provided by the Turkish state.

On the other hand, Manbij Canton administrators Ebu Şêxo Mihemed and Xalid Bekro told ANF that there was the perception of a special war developed in the city within the scope of a systematic plan inconsistent with the reality of Manbij.

Both administrators stated that the information that the city was abandoned and left was a result of the special war developed by the Turkish state, and that the people of Manbij were weaving their common life on the one hand and resisting the war on the other.

Manbij is the only remaining canton of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria west of the Euphrates. In 2018, Afrin was occupied by Turkey, and a week ago, SNA proxies occupied the Shehba region and the city of Tel Rifat. Around 500,000 people live in Manbij and the surrounding settlements. The canton of Manbij was liberated from ISIS by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in 2016 and was the first self-administered area in North and East Syria.
