LGBTI activist Kıvılcım Arat was verbally assaulted by a neighbor across the street while she was in her yard by some neighbors, after which Arat and friend Mehmet Dirlik went into an argument with the neighbors. The neighbors fired a gun at Arat and Dirlik afterwards.

Dirlik was wounded in the attack and has been taken to the Şişli Etfal Hospital.

Trans activist Kıvılcım Arat and two attackers were detained after the attack and taken to the Taksim Police station.
