On 14 June 2018, the bodyguards and relatives of AKP Urfa MP Ibrahim Halil Yıldız attacked the Şenyaşar family's shop in Suruç during the election campaign.
In the attack, brothers Celal, Adil, Mehmet, Fadıl and Ferit Şenyaşar were severely injured and hospitalized. Relatives and supporters of AKP MP Yıldız killed Celal and Adil Şenyaşar in hospital, and their father Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar, when he went to the hospital to see his sons. He was brutally murdered, being lynched in front of his wife, Emine Şenyaşar.

Emine Şenyaşar, who came to the Ministry with a sign saying "Justice", protested the continued detention of her son Fadıl Şenyaşar and said that she would continue her action until her son was released and asked all mothers to support her.
Emine Şenyaşar said that she went to Malatya for the trial and added: "There is no such thing as a court. They bring a different judge and prosecutor at every hearing. While my son is in prison, those who committed the crime are walking around outside. I will continue to be here until my son is released."
