HPG guerrilla Cihan Erbaş (Hüseyin Fırat), fell as a martyr in the Amanos Mountains in Hatay's Hassa district on 22 August. The remains of HPG guerrilla Erbaş were eventually delivered to his family after a 4-month wait.
Erbaş’s family had been unable to identify the remains of the HPG guerrilla as the body was unrecognizable. They thus left a blood sample to Adana Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) for DNA testing. The DNA results came out after four months and the family was eventually able to go to Adana to collect the remains of their son.
HPG guerrilla Erbaş will be buried in the village of Çığlık in Doğanşehir, province of Malatya.
