Political prisoners in Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison were forced to take off their shoes after a visit. The prisoners who wanted to go to the cells after meeting with their lawyers and family were forced to take off their shoes and shake them during the search.

It was stated that the prisoners were beaten by the guards after they refused this degrading treatment.

Stating that the prisoners said that this imposition has been going on for two weeks, the lawyers said: “The prisoners said that they would file a criminal complaint and resist all kinds of pressure. No justification was given to the prisoners for this imposition."
