IHD Hakkari branch pointed to the fact that the isolation in İmralı is getting deeper every day on the basis of a deliberate and unserious approach, and described the İmralı case as an unlawful and inhuman status and an execution.
Hakkari branch of Human Rights Association (IHD) has demanded an urgent end to the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Speaking at the press conference held by IHD Hakkari branch to condemn the ongoing aggravated isolation on the PKK leader, branch chair İsmail Akbulut recalled that Öcalan has been denied meeting with his family and İmralı delegation since April. He said it is vital that negotiation talks resume in order for the ending of the chaos and instability and achievement of peace and tranquility in the country.
Akbulut pointed to the fact that the isolation in İmralı is getting deeper every day on the basis of a deliberate and unserious approach, and described the İmralı case as an unlawful and inhuman status and an execution.
Remarking that the isolation of Öcalan is an all-out attack against the Kurdish people, Akbulut demanded an urgent end to the isolation which -he said- has long been embraced in Turkey as a means of torture rather than a policy.
