Ill prisoner Burhan Adsız, who is in Van Prison, was taken to the Van Regional Education and Research Hospital on 26 December. Adsız has liver problems, and was sent to prison after his sentence was upheld. Adsız's illness worsened while in prison.

Report confirms that 'he cannot stay in prison'

Adsız, whose condition was worsening, was released after the Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaş Medical Center Health Board issued a report stating that he "cannot stay in prison" on 17 December 2015. After the sentence was upheld in 2023, Adsız was again put in prison. His health condition came to the agenda once more with a new report prepared by the Van Education and Research Hospital Health Board on 2 January 2024. This report stated that "as a result of an investigation it was established that Burhan Adsız could remain in prison."
