Jasim Haseli, a professional Muay Thai and kickboxing champion, was last seen on 27 June after several hours of interrogation and torture at the local headquarters of the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Marivan.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported that Jasim Haseli, a professional Muay Thai and kickboxing champion, has been missing for a week after being released from interrogation by the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Marivan, Kurdistan Province.
According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, Haseli was last seen on 27 June after several hours of interrogation and torture at the local headquarters of the IRGC’s intelligence service.
Haseli was first approached by IRGC Intelligence forces at his workplace on 25 July, but they were unable to arrest him as he was not present.
When his family sought information from the IRGC Intelligence Organisation, they were assured that he would be questioned briefly and released.
On 27 June, the athlete turned up at IRGC headquarters, where he endured hours of interrogation and torture, and was told to return the following week for further questioning.
However, hours after his release, he disappeared shortly after leaving his home that evening and has not been seen since.
Despite ongoing efforts by his family to obtain information from the security services and the local court, the authorities have expressed their lack of knowledge of his whereabouts, KHRN stated.
