Songül İlker is continuing her protest in front of Denizli T Type Closed Prison demanding that her seriously ill son be treated.
The sit-in started by Songül Ilker in front of Denizli T Type Closed Prison in order to draw attention to the health condition of her son, Ekim Polat, who is seriously ill but kept in jail, continues. Ilker demands that her son be treated and that the prison administration meets his demands. Ilker has been protesting for 13 days. Her son Ekim Polat has been on hunger strike for 27 days demanding his right to access to health.
Reiterating that her son's treatment was prevented, Ilker said: “My son has been on hunger strike for 27 days. I am here so that my son's voice can be heard and the pressure on him lifted. The authorities need to take action. Otherwise, they will be responsible for whatever happens to my son. My son is going to die in front of everyone’s eyes. This silence causes anger in the families. Do not remain silent, don’t accept the murder policy of the government."
