No news from refugee Veli after his release

There has been no news for days from refugee Ali Veli, who was not heard from after his release from Erzincan L Type Closed Prison and whose images of torture were sent to his family.

There is no news from refugee Ali Veli (19), who was not heard from after being released from Erzincan L Type Closed Prison on 13 March, and after a while, images of the torture he was subjected to were sent to his family.

Veli was handed over to the gendarmerie on the grounds that he would be taken to the Removal Center (GGM) for deportation. However, it is not known whether he was ever delivered to GGM or not. Veli's fate remains unclear. Images showing that he was tortured were sent to his family living in the Northern and Eastern Syrian city of Qamishlo.

Unidentified people sent the images to the family and asked for Veli's father to be handed over to them. It was stated that Ali Veli would be killed if the father was not handed over.

Human Rights Association (IHD) Mardin Branch lawyers filed a criminal complaint regarding the incident. It was not known whether any action was taken regarding the application.
