A commemoration event was held in Inönü Park for those who lost their lives in the Suruç Massacre in Adana. Promoted by the youth of the HDP, the action was joined by Adana MP Kemal Peköz, HDP Adana Provincial co-chair Mehmet Karakış, and members of the United Struggle Forces (BMG). Making a statement on behalf of the youth, Canser Dayanır commemorated those who lost their lives in the Suruç Massacre and said that the AKP government was responsible.
After the announcement, the young people wanted to organize a walk from Inönü Park but the police, who prevented the march, attacked the young people after surrounding them. The police beat the youth and separated HDP Adana Provincial co-chair Mehmet Karakış, who tried to stop the police.
19 young people were detained and taken to Adana Provincial Security Directorate.
