Families of Roboski victims demanded justice and the trial of those responsible for the mass killing of their children in a bombardment of Turkish warplanes in the 41th month of the massacre.
Families of 34 Kurdish civilians, mainly children, who were killed in a bombardment of Turkish war planes in Roboski village in Uludere district of Şırnak on 28 December 2011, gather at the 28th day of each month to demand justice for their children.
The families who gathered in front of the Şırnak governor's office for the 41th month were accompanied by HDP Şırnak MP candidates and the representatives of the political parties and the NGOs.
Veli Encü, head of the Roboski-Der Association, said in his speech at the gathering that those responsible for the massacre had yet to be identified and brought to justice, while the state attempted to intimidate the families of the victims and their demand for justice rather than undertaking its duty to try the perpetrators.
Reacting to the recent statement of the Şırnak governor who said regarding the killings of the mules that “the mules committed suicide”, Encü said the authorities making such childish statements on deaths could only be laughed at, stressing that; “These remarks only show that they have no sincerity towards the achievement of peace in Turkey.”
The sit-in action of the Roboski families in front of the governor's office ended with the slogan “Murderer state will be brought to account”.
