10 soldiers killed during HPG action in Hakkari

HPG Media Center announced that 10 Turkish soldiers were killed during the guerilla action in Hakkari.

HPG Media Center issued a written statement on recent guerilla actions. In its statement, HPG said that guerillas carried out an action against Turkish soldiers positioned on Orê Hill in the Sümbül region of Hakkari’s Gever district at 06:45 on May 27. The Media Center stated that the guerillas hit Turkish army positions from 2 directions, and 3 positions were destroyed, 10 soldiers were killed and 4 soldiers were injured during the action. HPG said that the Turkish army retrieved the bodies of dead soldiers with ambulances and randomly shelled the site of the action later on the same day.

HPG stated that guerillas carried out another action on the Şkêr outpost in Hakkari’s Çukurca district at 09:00 on May 27, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

HPG announced that Turkish warplanes bombarded the Tepê Ortê region of Medya Defense Zones’ Metina area between 13:30 and 14:30 on May 27, and there were no casualties during the bombardment.

Lastly, the Media Center stated that soldiers from the Korxê outpost of Amed’s Lice district shot fires at a moving car around 18:00 on May 27 and wouded 3 civilians.
