The car bomb against the outpost, 2 km to Hani district of Amed, left a number of casualties on the side of Turkish forces. More than 20 ambulances rushed to the scene after the blast that also damaged several buildings in the town center.
Power and internet was cut off in the area in the wake of the explosion after which the district witnessed heavy clashes as the outpost remained under fire for hours.
According to local sources, as many as 30 soldiers couldn't be rescued from the debris for a while.
Local sources report that a Turkish military convoy heading to the scene to save the soldiers after the blast was also ambushed and clashes erupted in the area.
According to unofficial results, at least 11 members of special operations forces were killed and dozens of others got wounded, including 18 heavily. The gendarmerie outpost was razed to the ground.
Hani Gendarmerie outpost is known to be a base where gendarmerie special operations forces participating in genocidal attacks in Northern Kurdistan are trained.
In the meantime, a broadcast ban has been imposed on the incident, regarding which HPG has not released a statement yet.
