Mothers of 13 people killed in Sur had to bury their beloved ones in the gardens of two houses due to the ongoing siege and attacks on the district. The office of the chief public prosecutor decided to evacuate these bodies from the current site.

The curfew if Amed’s Sur district continues despite the ending of the clashes in the area. Civilians are not allowed to enter four neighborhoods in the district, and state force block access to several streets.

In some parts of Sur, there is no curfew but the siege of state forces remains. Residents have to pass through police checkpoints when they leave their streets every day.

The bodies of the people massacred by state forces have not yet been buried. 13 people buried in the gardens of two houses have not yet been evacuated, and the number of the bodies kept at criminal forensics centers waiting for ID confirmation is well above 50.

HDP Diyarbakır parliamentarian Nursel Aydoğan has been communicating with Turkish administrative officials and speaking to the public prosecutor for the evacuation of 13 people buried in the gardens of 2 houses in Sur. Aydoğan stated that the prosecutor agreed to the evacuation demand and said that a team monitored by the prosecutor would evacuate the bodies soon.

Aydoğan noted that 11 bodies from Sur are awaiting identification in Malatya, 2 in Elazığ, and 25 in Diyarbakır. Aydoğan said that the criminal forensics institutes in these cities have transformed the identification process into torture for the families of the deceased, and the officials delay the bureaucratic procedures in order to prevent the families from burying their children. Aydoğan criticized state officials’ decision to delay the process and inflict pain upon the families of the deceased.

In the meantime, families of the people massacred by state forces continue their hunger strike in Sümerpark and sit-in in Dicle Fırat Culture Center with a demand for the return of their children’s bodies. 10 families come to the culture center every day and wait for the return of their beloved ones' bodies, and have began demanding the evacuation of the 13 bodies buried in the gardens of 2 houses in Sur.
