People’s Defense Forces Press Office (HPG-BIM) released a statement informing about the most recent actions carried out by guerrillas against the invading Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

The statement by HPG-BIM reads as follows;

"Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, on June 28 and 30, our forces carried out actions against the invading Turkish army in various areas of Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district.

The details of the actions carried out within this scope are as following;

On June 28, at 19.40, our forces carried out an action against a checkpoint of the invaders in the Şirvanê village and against a hill providing the security of the hill. Five enemy soldiers were killed in this action where the positions in the enemy checkpoint and on the hill were put under intense fire, and three soldiers were wounded. A Cobra-type armoured vehicle located on the hill has also received heavy blows as a result of effective hits. Following the action, on June 29, the invading Turkish army launched an operation in the area. The operation was withdrawn without any results on the same day.

On June 30, at 08.30 and 13.00 hours, our forces carried out a series of assassination actions against the invaders on the Bayê hill. Two enemy soldiers were killed in these actions.

On June 29, our forces had carried out an action against the soldiers positioned on the Deriyê Cefer hill. The invading Turkish army launched an operation in the Deriyê Xiz area following the action. On June 30, at 15.00, our forces carried out a sabotage action against a unit of the operation. Five enemy soldiers were identified killed in this action, and three soldiers were wounded. The invading Turkish army has carried away dead and wounded soldiers from the area with many Sikorsky helicopters after this action.

Within the scope of the Revolutionary Victory Campaign, on June 29, at 15.40, our forces carried out an assassination action against the soldiers on the hill providing the security of the Gulizerkê outpost in the Çaldıran district of Van province. One enemy soldier was killed in this action.

Within the scope of the Martyr Ozan and Martyr Roza Revolutionary Campaign, our YJA Star forces have carried out road control action on the Dersim-Erzincan highway on June 30 at 11.00 hours. Our forces, stopping many vehicles in this action, have informed the public about our comrade Zilan (Zeynep Kınacı) who carried out a sacrificial action on June 30, 1996, and also informed in relation to the current process."
