In Sur district of Amed where an onslaught continues for the 63rd uninterrupted day, attacks by state forces have intensified today noon.

Turkish military and police forces deployed around Cumhuriyet School, Mardinkapı area and Karadeniz Street are conducting heavy attacks on neighborhoods protected by popular resistance.

Tank and artillery strikes are also targeting the high buildings and historical structures in Savaş and Cemal Yılmaz neighborhoods. Many historical structures in the area have reportedly suffered remarkable damages as a result of ongoing aggression by state forces, including the Foor-Footed Minaret and Kurşunlu Mosque.

While Civil Defense Units (Yekineyên Parastina Sivîl, YPS) are responding to the attacks with self-defense, 15 police and soldiers are reported to have died in clashes in Sur district since yesterday.
