Shengal Resistance Units (Yekîneyên Berxwedana Şingal, YBŞ) thwarted a third major aggression on the village of Medinaban yesterday, and inflicted a heavy blow on ISIS gangs.

According to a written statement by YBŞ Command, YBŞ forces spotted and surrounded a group of 200 ISIS members that attempted to conduct a major aggression on the village from three sides from 03:40 to 19:00 yesterday. The gang groups equipped with heavy weaponry and armored vehicles were inflicted a heavy blow. 17 gang members were killed and 11 of these were captured dead.

YBŞ said two armored vehicles of the gangs were destroyed and a panzer vehicle was damaged, while a large quantity of ammunition was also seized, including 3 MP 16, 2 BKC and 5 Kalashnikov rifles.

The statement reported that three fighters of the YBŞ were martyred during the clashes, saying that these three combatants had come to Shengal from Northern Kurdistan to protect the Êzîdî people, for which cause they manifested self-sacrifice since the very first day. YBŞ promised to realize the goals of their comrades.
